I read somewhere over the weekend about the difficulties and trouble people have when dealing with ex-girlfriends (or ex-boyfriends for that matter). I felt that I could somewhat relate to these situations considering my few oh so uncomfortable experiences with those whose names shall not be mentioned, ever! (And for some of you who can guess, please keep your mouth shut. Haha). Ideally, we'd like to think that we can have some sort of relationship with our exes but in reality that rarely happens. Rarely.
And any efforts to even start a non-boyfriend/girlfriend type of relation is just hopeless. It starts off really awkward, then you start questioning why would you even bother, eventually you'll just say "Ah, fuck it. Its pointless" and there goes your noble act of reconciliation down the bloody drain. And it will happen that way. No happy endings, my friend. None.
So, with exes, never ever talk to them unless its absolutely necessary, and even then, with minimal words. And if you bump into them somewhere, say hi and go away. Any encounter more than 5 minutes will be extremely awkward and potentially embarrassing. But what's worse, there's always the small chance of feeling hurt. And why bother with all that when you can ignore this bullshit?
Well, at least that's what I do. I don't know about you. But it works for me.
On another note, I've been watching re-runs of House. I love it. And I'm getting more cynical the more I watch it.
On another another note, I'm slightly embarrassed to watch Stevie G's Celcom ad. Haha, come on, Stevie, you could do much better, mate.

First Win
Luckily, the Reds won last night against some pretty tricky opposition (Maccabi Haifa). I didn't wake up early enough to watch the first half and by the time I got my arse out of bed the game was already well into the 2nd period.
Anyways, Liverpool played a decent game but nowhere near the level I'd consider excellent. I'll cut them some slack since it's early days and players might be rusty still.
Didn't see much of Bellamy though he did score, while Pennant was busy down the right without actually getting his crosses accurate. Gerrard occasionally was played on the LEFT (what the..?) and Zenden was very average. Alonso didn't impose himself enough in midfield and I thought only Sissoko was playing well. But a win is a win. I'm glad we got the win, but am still worried about the 2nd leg.
Ahh... the ups and downs being a Red.
Bring it on, I've missed it for months.

Think About This
You get interesting thoughts from people you hang out with.
Last night, I was hanging out with my friend at our local mamak. It was just after dinner but was not late enough to be considered a proper supper. As usual, I ordered my teh tarik. And then we proceeded with our borak borak.
After a while the teh tarik arrived. It was in a nice huge glass and had a lot of froth on top, which I liked.
Unfortunately it was a bit too sweet for my liking. There's too much sugar, I reckoned.
But I drank the teh nonetheless, about quarter way down the glass and I didn't mind that it tasted sweeter than I would've liked it to be. I knew that too much sugar is not good, but what the hell. Belasah je la.
Now the glass is about 3/4 full. I then poured some air suam into the glass to "dilute" the sweetness so that it would more bearable for me to drink.
And at this point, my good 'ol friend asked "Why did you add more water to your teh?"
"It was too sweet. I wanted to dilute it lah" was my reply.
"But what's the point? You drinking the same amount of sugar, kan? Regardless of whether you add water or not, the amount of sugar still remains the same."
I didn't have a reply. It made me think. And I have to agree, what he said was absolutely true. I'm just wondering why I didn't think of it that way before. All the while, I was under the impression that less sweet means less sugar, but obviously this isn't quite true.

Weekend
My uneventful and boring weekend was saved (barely) by the surprisingly good Hungarian F1 race, which I enjoyed very much. I'm an F1 fan and I do watch every race whenever I can, but usually I don't stay and watch until the end. I like the starts 'cause a lot of incidents happen then but when the race develops a "steady" rhythm or whenever the gap between each driver is so huge, it gets boring very quickly.
But not in Hungary yesterday. It was by far the best F1 race I've watched this season, and I even stayed on until the end, right up to the trophy presentation ceremony! There was so much happening, and it rained; which makes it even more chaotic, with cars spinning on nearly every lap. Highlights: Alonso & Micheal's duel, the numerous overtaking manouvers, Raikkonen's amazing bump into Monteiro's rear, Renault not finishing, dilemma over full wet, intermediates or slicks, Jenson's (and Honda's) first win. Plus a few more I've probably forgot.
And while I do not have a specific "team" that I follow, I found myself quietly pleased and proud of BMW-Sauber's (my default team, I suppose) performance yesterday. Heidfeld finished on the podium (a first for BMW?) while debutant Kubica did ever so well despite 2 spins and a nose-cone change to finish 7th. Good job lads. Well done. The BMW ads were also quite fun, it came with a completely retro 70's soundtrack to boot! But what's the connection between Jacques and Newtown?? That baffled me.
Anyhow, the race was so good that I didn't even mind the obvious bias-ness of the commentators who clearly were backing Button, which came as no surprise considering one of them was Honda's test driver and Button's team mate.
Last night's race was excellent, and hopefully the next one would be just as good.

Random
Firstly, let's start off with something funny I just heard on TV. A scene from a Malay drama series.
Mak (sounding suspicious) :
Mak rasa ade sesuatu yang tak kena ni. Ayah kau tu selalunya sihat sihat je, tapi semalam tiba tiba je kena stroke. Mak rasa ada orang yang nak menganiaya keluarga kita Man.
Man (or maybe Wan, tak ingat nama, the son - sounding pissed off) :
Ala mak.. mana ada orang yang aniaya kita mak.
Stroke; memang la tiba tiba!
Haha, I don't know about you, but I sure thought it sounded funny.
Okay.
I've finished reading Nick Hornby's latest novel, A Long Way Down and I must say that it is an interesting and hilarious read. But I had the feeling that the story was kinda tergantung. I was disappointed with the ending, only because the rest of the book was excellent. I still would recommend it though, Hornby once again excels in building up colourful and "real" characters - the story is told ala About a Boy i.e from each main character's point of view.
I'm sure someone would make a movie out of this novel later on.
Okay.
I've seen too many teen flicks, romantic comedies, those confused teenage life TV shows (O.C et. al), and seen a few good examples in real life and probably have my own experience to say that falling for your friend is a bad bad idea. So when this mate of mine expressed to me and a couple other blokes that he fancies a mutual friend of ours, I begin to think "Hmm, well... this can become uncomfortable later on, dude. Are you sure?". But of course, I didn't tell him that. What I (and the rest of us) said was "Well, go for it dude."
And I wish him well. Really.
But I just can't help but feel that this could possibly go downhill somewhere along the line. Not that I didn't want my mate to be happy with his girl, it's just in my nature to be skeptical of things. I feel that the transition from friend to "special friend" is something that is really awkward, weird, confusing and possibly uncomfortable. And it is definitely different for the group since the dynamics of the whole "group relationship" has changed. Plus, I find it difficult to believe that you can be friends and lovers at the same time. You can only be either one.
Anyways, those two lovebirds have already "hooked up" - as the MTV generation would say and I wish them well. We all do.

Not too sure
Once again, I'm too sure about Khairy, despite his very public appearance yesterday, rallying against Israel's attack on Lebanon. I am not in any way undermining the importance of his actions, in fact I do support the efforts to condemn Israel's brutal attacks, and good for him for highlighting this very serious matter, it's just that I have this sneaky feeling that there may be something else in it for Khairy. I just don't trust him.
Oh and by the way, interested in using chemicals?

Getting Linked?
I've just realised that I don't link much.
Just look at my links on the right. THREE links only. Pathetic. Those 3 links are pretty darn good, but still the amount is pathetic nonetheless. Haha.
So here's an offer I have. If you want me to put your site on my Links section, please feel free to drop a comment saying: Your site would be a million times better if you linked me.
Or something like that.
And I WILL link you. I promise.

Read Newspapers
Have you noticed how tacky and tabloid-y the Malay Mail has become recently? What happened there? While I was never a regular reader of the old Malay Mail, but through the few times that I did read the publication, it gave me the impression that it was a rather decent read. But yesterday I had the chance to read the "all new" Malay Mail and I thought that it was totally rubbish. 90% of the content is tabloid material, not to mention the numerous amount of useless gossip (local & international) and those sleazy dodgy photos. I know that sex sells, but hey, have a bit of class, will ya? Unfortunately, it has become the English version of Harian Metro. Yes, it's THAT bad.
In other news, I see that Astro will be showing the US version of the series The Office soon. Hmm, interesting. I'm very skeptical and doubt whether the American version of this totally hilarious show would be anywhere close to the original British version. American sense of humour is different from the British, and I'm not too sure whether the American version would have the same impact. Example: While there's been rave reviews about the series Arrested Development, personally I don't think its that funny or hilarious at all. Maybe I just don't get it. I think the Brits are better at these "mock-umentary" style of comedy than the Yanks.
So, if you haven't seen The Office (original version) yet, do yourself a favour and go to your favourite Torrent site and download the whole season. Then, watch it. If you've ever worked in an office, you'll quickly realise that this show is bloody funny.

Sneaky
Did I say I won't have an Internet connection? I did, didn't I? But I do have one now. All thanks to my desperation that drove me to be super-resourceful. I taught myself how to hack the office network and after all the hard work, I have gained access to the Inter-nerd. Credit also to my other "resourceful" colleagues that inspired me to find the back door to the outside world. Sure, technically; it's illegal but I need my dose of Internet everyday. Bloody hell.
I'm just super stoked on this I can't think straight. Yay.

Away for 2 weeks.
Have you ever tried Coke + Soya bean? This was the dumb bet that my friends and I had last night. Whoever loses in our Winning Eleven football matches will have to drink one whole glass of CokeSoyaBean cocktail, or as we prefer to call it: Cobean. And I can tell you this: It tastes kinda good initially but it's the after-taste that kills you. If you're interested, you might want to try this yourself. And yes, we're (slight) geeks cause we play video games AND bet on them too!
On other news, I'm sorry to inform the loyal readers and casual observers that I won't be able to post anything new to this blog for at least 2 weeks starting tomorrow. I have to go to work. You can still keep posting comments and I can definitely read them (I receive comment notification in my work email) but I don't think I would be able to reply.
Hopefully I'll be back by end of the month.
But rest assured, I'll be thinking of ideas for future posts during these 2 weeks.

Ohh I'm smiling!
AHH... Datuk K just can't wipe that HUGE grin off his face, can he? I would have difficulties too, if I were a 40+ year old duda who's marrying someone 20 years old younger, not to mention she's probably THE most wanted girl in Malaysia. Some people are just lucky bastards.
Anyways, have you been to the movies lately? If you have, you've probably seen the Tiger beer ad. The one that has Jessica Alba in it. I've seen the ad a few times and I think its funny, but in a completely different way than what Tiger intended. It's so bloody cheesy and lame that it's actually hilarious, if you know what I mean.
I particularly like the wooden acting, with no emotion whatsoever delivery of this line: Isn't she your favourite star? by a semi Asian looking dude in an unmistakably Aussie accent. I always crack up everytime I see that part. It's so bad that it's good.

World Cup, Stringfellow, bla bla
The World Cup is over, and almost all of my regular blog stops have dedicated at least one whole post to cerita about the World Cup final. I'll probably just make it a half post, firstly, since its been nearly a week since the game and secondly, you probably have read this on every damn blog too.
I just wanted to say how sad it is to see Zidane bow out of the game in such a disgraceful manner. Regardless of what Materazzi - the former Evertonian said, Zizou should've kept his cool. But having said that, in a weird way I understand and even admire what he did. If anything, it shows that everyone is a little messed up somewhere in the head. Everyone, even the football wizard Zidane himself, is human after all. And that comforts me. Zidane is definitely someone I look up to, and I need my heroes to show that while they're brilliant at what they do, they'll do something crazy once in a while. They're fucked up a little. I prefer to call it "character". Character adds to the charisma of a person. Plus, "perfect" blokes are boring and dull. Just like Lampard.
Anyways, congratulations to Italy. Well deserved. I was a temporary Italy supporter that night, by the way, so I tumpang enjoy sekali la.
Alright, thats the World Cup.
Here's another story:
I just went to this "rock/indie/whatever" show last night. It was a relatively low key affair, the crowd was a mix of young & old, the place was small but cosy, the bands were friendly and close.
There's this local band named Couple. I've heard of them before but never really listened to any of their songs. But their performance last night truly impressed me. They play a bunch of happy sing-y song-y, Weezer-ish kind of music with a healthy dose of "aha ahaha"s in the choruses. Kids nowadays call it power pop or something. I liked the band and I liked their performance, that's all that matters, not power pop or soda pop or whatnot. You should check them out. They're good. Trust me. Go buy the CD. Oh, they also have a chick playing the guitar. Just thought that'll get your attention. Plus, I'm a sucker for girls who play guitars.
The main act was this American dude named Ken Stringfellow. I must admit, going to the show I had absolutely no idea who this bloke is. Honestly, I just went there cause I didn't have anything else to do, and I'd been wanting to listen to a real live band for ages now. Anyways, up comes this lanky American and straight away he cheekily says "You got good hospitals here" while pointing to his heavily bandaged elbow. Apparently dude cut his elbow a few days back but didn't bother to properly clean the wound and eventually the wound got badly infected until he had to go to the hospital to get it sorted.
"Sorry, but really I've only got one arm tonight. Hopefully everything goes well. I'm Ken Stringfellow. I'm up here to play some songs for you. Hope that's alright."
Straight away I can sense that this dude is a bit goofy. And funny. Oh, it's gonna be fun.
And fun it was.
Stringfellow is a singer songwriter dude who is also in a band called the Posies. I didn't have a clue who the Posies are, so right now I'm reading all about them on the Internet. You know, doing some homework.
Stringfellow's awesome vocals, coupled with the sparse guitar arrangement managed to captivate the audience, who were evidently savouring the mellow and melancholic mood Stringfellow had set. Literally everyone was like "terpaku", clearly impressed and enjoying Stringfellow's superb and passionate show. It almost brought a tear to my eye.
I can safely say that 90% of the crowd did not have any clue whatsoever about Stringfellow prior to the show, but I can guarantee every single one of them will start knowing him more as soon as the show's finished.
All in all, it was a great way to spend the evening. Hope to do this again sometime soon.
Nothing beats good music.
Hmm, except a Liverpool game, definitely.

Local Papers
I don't usually read newspapers. I don't watch the news either. Therefore, most of the time I wouldn't have a clue as to what's happening in the world. You can say that I am an ignorant bastard, more or less.
But recently, I had the sudden enthusiasm to read newspapers. Maybe it's out of boredom due to my ever depleting interest in work, or maybe its just a miracle, that's causing this "out of the blue" interest in local news. Yes, apparently there's so much to love about our local news, and it gets more exciting with each passing day. So, to prove that I actually know a bit of what's happening in good 'ol Malaya, here's a few of my top news picks for the past month:
Dr M v Pak Lah
This has been going on for a while now. Quite honestly, Dr M raised some interesting to say the least questions which until now have not been properly answered (or in Pak Lah's case not answered at all). I don't really know where I stand on this one as new things keep popping up everyday, adding more ??? to the already not-so-straightforward issue. And on the other side you have all these ministers declaring "support" and vowing to "explain" those queries. I need not say more, it's all over the blog scene - Screenshot, Rocky's Bru, Malaysiakini, etc. Go and spend hours reading those site. Go now. Shoosh.
I wanted a Merc MP
This dude is a complete douche bag. First it was the "balak" case, now he's going all over the place accusing the Customs of some rather "dodgy practices". And more recently, the crybaby like bullshit of "I didn't get a cheap Merc, instead I got some useless crap". Dude's a tosser. I'm not convinced that the Customs is clean either, but a different, non-self embarassing approach would be much much better for Jasin (bukan nama sebenar). Am I getting sued for this? I'm too insignificant for all that.
Mawi putus tunang / Siti kawin Datuk K
Not "real" news, more suited to URTV or Utusan Malaysia yet it still made the (relatively) front pages of all major newpapers (English & Malay, perhaps Chinese & Tamil too). My mum loves this stuff. And probably, so does your mum. Mawi apparently has turned into this "lupa daratan, lupa asal usul, kisah si Tanggang" character just because he putus tunang. To be frank, I've expected the "putus tunang" to happen earlier. But that's probably because I'm just being cynical.
The "is she or isn't she" story of Siti kawin Datuk K seems to have cooled down since the putus tunang news broke. It still deserves a mention though. I guess old blokes with thick moustaches are HOT STUFF!! And oh, being rich also helps.
Lina Joy Murtad
This is another relatively low profile story but you can read the day by day trial updates in the papers. Quite interesting stuff here.
And if you've been surfing the blogs I mentioned above, you could probably guess there's a bit of tension between certain people and a certain news daily. I don't quite understand the whole issue but you can feel the tense vibe reading those blogs. Anyone care to summarise & explain?
So in conclusion, read the papers. And then read the blogs. Apparently papers tell lies. Its true. I read it in the blogs. But the blogs are also lies. So how ah?

Oil Rig Worker
It looks like I'm going to be an oil rig worker pretty soon. If that really happens, then I'll be offshore for 2 weeks each month. But on the plus side, I get the other 2 weeks off. 2 bloody weeks off. Thats too much idling time, though I'm not in any way complaining at all.
So what's it like, you know, working in an oil rig? you may ask.
It's roughly like this:
You get covered with dirty mud, oil, grease, water, diesel and a whole lot of other nasty things everyday, for the whole 2 weeks. You work from 6 am to 6 pm, and occasionally even until midnight. You smell like oil after work everyday. You work in a hazardous environment where everything around you can blow up in an instant. It's offshore, so it's not like you can go anywhere after work, you're stuck there.
It's rough and dirty. Definitely no metrosexual bullshit here.

Pick Me Up
Flirting with chicks through Friendster is as near-impossible as getting a straight answer from Samy Vellu. Well, impossible for me at least. Ha ha.
They probably think I'm a creepy bastard that sends random messages all over. And my "testimonials" don't help either; most of them say that I am in fact I AM (allegedly) a creepy bastard. Which is not true. I'm a decent human being. Really.
But then again it was me that approved those testimonials in the first place, so it's my fault.
Ahh well, what to do?

Some Japanese Game
Lately I've been filling my time in my cubicle doing Sudoku. It's way better than staring into blank space. And you know what, Sudoku is not THAT easy!
I find myself struggling to fill up the numbers vertically & horizontally. Most of the time I use the crude method of trial and error or "main belasah cuba nasib" which usually works like this: Fill random numbers in random box followed by immediately erasing said number upon realising that it wouldn't work after I've filled up another box with yet another seemingly random number (..phew). You can see a LOT of eraser marks on my Sudoku worksheet. Worse if it's on a newspaper. Kadang kadang sampai koyak.
There must be a better method than this. Filling up 9 horizontal & vertical lines randomly is hard, not to mention how much of a headache it is.
It was only today I realised that there's another little "rule" that I've missed.
Apparently, you have to fill the digits 1 to 9 in the nine 3 by 3 boxes as well.
Ah-ha!!!
Well... this certainly simplify things a bit.

AF2
Remember my Alleged Friend (AF), Mr. Know-it-All walking encyclopaedia, doesn’t know what is the Ashes despite “borak-borak pasal kriket kat pub ngan bebudak India”? Well, he’s back annoying the fuck out of me once more.
We were watching TV (it’s always in front of the TV, innit?) World Cup match: Togo v France.
4 people in the living room. Me, Friend 1(F1), Friend 2 (F2) & Alleged Friend (AF).
Match already started and its somewhere in the middle of the first half.
AF is sitting on the sofa with a laptop. He’s watching football while surfing the Net.
F1 : Adoi, France main macam sial. Boring gile game.
F2 : Come on la Togo. Useless betul France. Banyak player tua.
Me : France pakai player sama since World Cup ’98.
F1 : A’ah la.. sume dah tua dah. Zidane, Vieira, Henry, Thuram.
AF : Henry mana ade masa ’98. Aku tengok dulu, aku ingat.. Henry ni baru lagi.
Me : Oi Henry ada la masa ’98. Check kat Internet tu.
AF : (Degil)
Eh ade ke? Aku sure takde la. Belum masuk Arsenal pun lagi masa tu.
F1 : Lantak kau la.
F2 : (Ignoring the ongoing debate).. Come on Togo!!
AF : Go TOGO!!! Korang ni apsal sokong France? Togo la bagus. Player laju, power. Aku mmg dari dulu lagi support Togo.
F1 : Oh ye ke? Kalau camtu, ibu Negara Togo ape?
Me : Togo cakap bahasa ape?
F2 : Coach Togo ape nama?
Me : Togo kat mana?
AF : (in a dismissive tone) Ishhh….
Me : Oi check la kat Internet, kata support Togo. Ni asyik tengok porn je.
AF : (kinda pissed) Fuck you!
Me, F1 & F2 just laughed.

Interesting Stories
Have you heard tales about how certain words came about?
I'm sure you have come across these very interesting stories.
Example:
Posh is actually acronym for Port Out Starboard Home (there's a long story behind this, involving voyages across continents!!)
Golf - Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden
Fuck - Fornication Under the Consent of the King
You know, stuff like that...
But hey guess what? They're all LIES!!
Although the stories sound legit, AND they do kinda make sense too, apparently all of these "origin of words" stories are completely FALSE.
Which makes me wonder.... who initially had this great idea to make up these stories, and how did it spread so far??

World Cup so far
I'm mightily impressed by two players in the World Cup so far. I think Riquelme and Van Persie are excellent players. Riquelme has proven that he is definitely the classiest and best player in the Argentinian team, head and shoulders above the rest, a certain Mr Messi included. He makes everything look easy, sprays the ball all over the field, has an eye for the killer pass, has excellent control and movement. Truly an elegant player.
On the other hand, I am quite surprised that van Persie is impressing me. Robben may be getting the headlines, but van Persie is the type of player that I admire. He's another classy player that relies more on quick thinking and excellent vision to play the game, rather than utilising pace to terrorise opponents. There's never a touch too many, everything is measured and delivered just right. Too bad he plays for Arsenal.
Looking forward to find some more gem players in the upcoming matches.
Enjoy your football everyone.

Singapore is a foreign country
If you like shopping and you have loads of money (lucky bastard!) then you should go to bloody SINGAPORE!
I was there last week for three days, all paid for by my kind employers who thought I was going there to work. At least that's what I told them. Technically, there was a bit of work being done, but that only took 1/2 a day. The rest of the time were spent on non-work activities, obviously.
Apparently right now Singapore is having their annual Great Singapore Sale, much like our own Karnival Beli Belah or something like that. But they have more stuff that I'd actually want to buy over there. I ended up RM 800 poorer by the end of my trip. I spent eight fucking hundred bucks in 3 days! And most of them are on clothes! I'm becoming a girl.
And they have HMV over there. It's been a long long while since I've been in one and when I stepped into the store, it felt really good. Comforting, even. Ok well HMV may not have all the CDs that I want, but they're not too bad. They have the decent stuff, if you look hard. Plus, I just couldn't tahan to see CDs priced at 19.99 and some at 15.99. Rasa cam nak beli semua!!
Before you start being a smart arse and say "Ala, kalau convert sama la harga dgn kat sini", I already know that. But psychologically the numbers 19.99 is much much lower than 49.90 and for that reason I bought 3 CDs. It seemed cheap. In terms of value, maybe I would save a bit more cash if I bought the CDs over here. Then again, maybe I couldn't find these CDs here. So you see, it's a complicated situation.
I wouldn't tell what CDs I bought cause it's a bit embarassing. Haha.
Conclusion: If you want to buy stuff (nice stuff some more, ah) go to Singapore. And bring lots of cash.

World Cup!
The World Cup has started.
Now, everyone knows that the World Cup is held every four years, yes?
Well, then geniuses, answer me this:
There was a World Cup when I was in Form 1 and the next World Cup was held when I was in Form 5. But hey, wait a minute... isn't that 5 years apart??
It's probably a straight forward answer, but apparently its been bugging me all day long.
Plus, its a good trick question to fool young children. Ahh, the confused look on those kids faces gives me such joy. Evil.

Wankers...continued
I had the weekend plus a few more days to think about this. But in reality, I came up with this within an hour on Monday, my mind fuelled up with damn Vanilla Coke ( I hated it earlier, but then it grew on me). Plus, I'm a busy bloke on weekends so I wouldn't have much time anyways.
Ok, in my opinion and gut feeling, these are some top wankers in Malaysia.
Samser Sidhu
As Farock rightly predicted, I have in fact managed to "fit Samser Sidhu somewhere in there", yeah right smack on top, head of the class, mate! The bald headed guy from the Celcom ad and host of the God-awful TV show Fear Factor Malaysia is well and truly a wanker extraordinaire. Homeboy tries so so hard to look cool and has too much "gaya macam pukimak".
Khairy "KJ" Jamaludin
The man behind MyTeam. For someone who doesn't have a real job, he sure does appear on TV (and papers) way too much. Tosser. I can see right through his fake ass smile.
Jien (Football Crazy)
Maybe it's the HongKee hairstyle, maybe its the annoying high pitched voice, maybe its the pink shirts, I dunno. This is a dude that looks like he know's absolute nothing about football and yet we still have to endure his constant yapping about "EPL" week in and week out. He think he's cool. I think he's a poof.
Fazley penyanyi (and doktor & pengasas kolej)
For someone who's apparently well educated, it's amazing how he still is a wanker. He has a PhD and has his college for God's sake. Anyway, I always question people's motives when they set up these "celebrity college or anything charity-like". They always sound a bit dodgy. You can see this douche bag giving advice and motivasi for those poor Akademi Fantasia kids every week on Astro.
Shebby
Poor 'ol Shebby. I was actually 50-50 on this one. I think everyone is familiar with our own "football pundit" here. And you should also be familiar with his wanker-ness. I don't need to proceed any further.
And that's all. Sure, there are a million more: Aznil Nawawi, Azwan Ali, Hazami, AC Mizal bla bla bla. But these guys at least aren't acting as if they're the hottest shit ever. Unlike the blokes above. So I've cut some slack, I guess.
And have you noticed that they're no female wankers? Is the term wanker limited to males? If yes, whats the female equivalent? Or is it really the case that there aren't any female "wankers"? Hmm... a question to ponder.
P/s: Where can I find the Seinfeld Theme mp3?

Wankers
If you were to list down the top 5 wankers in Malaysia, who would they be?
I have a few in mind, but really I want to have a bit more time to think this over.
In the mean time, do your own thinking. Let's compare wankers later!
P/s: I've bought a spanking new Motorola SLVR mobile phone. It's not so user-friendly, but dammit, it's cool as hell.
I've got Missy Higgin's Scar as the ringtone and an Interpol song (don't know the title but it goes like this... Rosemary, bla bla) as well. What are other nice tunes for ringtones?

I am back!
I HAVEN'T BEEN POSTING FOR A WHILE..... BECAUSE MY STREAMYX CONNECTION IS FUCKED.
Damn you, Telekom. Aku "bukan sekadar nombor"!
And I have to go to bloody Starbucks to post this. If this isn't commitment to me blog, then I don't know what is. Haha.
But anyways, it's easy to blame my non-existant internet connection for my blogging absence, but that's only part of my excuse. The other part is this : I WAS AWAY WORKING WITH SOME NORWEGIANS.
Yes, I was away performing some jobs with four Norwegian blokes.
What I initially thought about Norwegians:
- Can speak English well
- Clean and proper
- Civilised
- Easy going and laid back
- Love football
- Carry big bags ala backpackers
- Norwegian chicks are HOT! Oops, make that Scandinavian chicks!
What I found out about Norwegians from my trip:
- 3 blokes speak decent English (mcm Melayu cakap English) while the other (boss) was quite fluent
- Laid back but sometimes TOO laid back that they just look plain lazy
- They like to smile and say hi a LOT to me (like 6-7 times a day)
- They sleep in till 11 am (on a work day!)
- One bloke put his curry puff inside a bowl of bubur kacang hijau and then proceeded to eat karipap berkuah kacang hijau.. funny!
- Turns out that none of them even have the slightest idea about football
- They like boats! They live near the sea. And there's small islands to have picnics on everywhere!
So I guess I was a bit off the mark there. Haha.
Anyways I Googled their place down and here's a photo of how Stavanger, Norway looks like:

Nice, eh?

Stevie G won us the cup!
For the second year in a row, Liverpool FC nearly gave me a heart attack. But a good one, of course.
We won the FA Cup!
In the most dramatic of ways, mind you. Certainly up there with the Champions League win last year. This one was probably even better, since we got an absolute scorcher of an equaliser right at the final minute. How close can you get, mate? Well done, lads.
My season definitely ends on a high. Who cares about the World Cup?
And oh, congratulations also to Shaw for becoming the proud owner of a brand new used Alfa 145.

Cab Ride From Hell (but a good one!)
Let me share with you my experience in a cab today. Terrifying and amusing at the same time. I should be horrified but somehow it kinda made my day and I even afforded a smile as soon as I got off the cab.
So a bit of background first. I was catching a cab from Subang to KLCC this morning. I saw one parked and jumped straight in. I told the old bloke (I’m guessing 50-ish) where I was heading and then the old geezer started the engine.
Cabbie : Saya satu je tak boleh buat.Tak boleh pakai seatbelt.
And with that remark, he started to drive. And my journey begins.
Cabbie : So, kerja sekali dengan anak Merican?
Me : Ha’ah, lebih kurang. (Thought to myself.. Yeah, right)
Cabbie : (Now starts addressing himself as “pakcik”)
Pakcik kenal Merican tu. Orang Sungai Petani. Tapi anak dia tak suka tolong orang. Orang Kedah memang camtu la. Tak suka tolong orang. Keluarga sendiri pun tak tolong.
And then he started rambling on about Mahathir.
Cabbie : Mahathir pun tak suka tolong orang. Dulu pakcik bawak anak sedara dia. Anak sedara dia cerita Mahathir tak mau tolong dia la apa la.
(Oh, imagine also that the cabbie speaks with a loghat Utara)
Cabbie : Orang Perak suka tolong orang. Megat Junid tu yang tolong saya, teksi ni saya dapat sebab Megat Junid yg tolong.
He then went on about how Megat Junid awarded his company (Yes, he’s a contractor too.. “Bawak teksi ni saje saje je, boring…”) to clear some land to start a new plantation.
Cabbie : Dia punya personal life tu, hal dia la. Dia buat apa pun tak kacau kita. Tapi yg penting dia tolong kita.
Me : Hmm.. betul betul. (Berpura pura layan)
There was a brief silence for a while as we started entering the NKVE. But not too long. Pakcik then started on with another story and added more weird remarks.
Cabbie : Anak pakcik sorang balik dari Mesir skarang kerja kat Jepun, yang tua skali. Sorang belajar kat Iran. Yang muda skali jantan tak kawin lagi, dah 27 tahun.
Me : Muda lagi tu. (Again, pura pura layan… I was now enjoying this a bit)
Cabbie : Anak pakcik semua baik baik. Tak hisap rokok, tak main pompuan. Bukan macam pakcik, pakcik dulu jahat. Tapi pakcik ajar anak anak jangan jadi macam pakcik.
Me : (Thinking.. How jahat is this pakcik really?)
And, as if he could read my mind, he elaborated more on his “jahat”.
Cabbie : Dulu pakcik gi night club, jadi bouncer lagi. Zaman dulu dulu la. Banyak lagi benda jahat pakcik buat. Hisap rokok, judi, minum arak. Jahat dulu pakcik ni.
Wow. Good on ya, pakcik. That’s quite impressive.
Cabbie : Anak pakcik yg muda skali tu tak kawin kawin lagi.
Me : (Nodding in agreement)
Betul tu. (This time I genuinely agree with him, tak pura pura)
Cabbie : Anak pakcik kalau 23 tahun, pakcik dok main kote lagi.
Me : (I don’t have a fucking clue where that came from, or even what it’s supposed to mean. But I guess it was a bit funny)
Now we’re cruising along NKVE heading towards the Jalan Duta Tollbooth. Pakcik got his cab in a long queue. (As you do when you drive to KL around 8.15-ish). So now we’re idling in the queue when suddenly pakcik yelled “Oi!”)
I was a bit shocked, to be honest. Tetiba je dia jerit.
I then realised that he saw his taxi buddy in the line next to us, but about 5-6 cars ahead of us.
Pakcik decided to take matters in his own hands. Switched on the right indicator lights, and without even a glance on the sideview or rearview mirror, he jumped into the next lane. Ok, not exactly into the next lane, more like he squeezed into the space between the two lanes.
O Oh. He’s jumping the queue. I always curse at people who jump queues, but today I’m in a crazy cab who’s doing it. He sped the cab right up next to his mate’s cab, signalled left, and cut in front of him. And his mate did give some space for our cab to cut in. I guess that’s one of the cabbies’ rules. Let your mate cut in front of you during jams.
I tried not to look outwards at the other motorists who I’m sure were pretty bloody pissed. I was a bit embarrassed.
Pakcik then decided that it would be good for me to know a bit more about his mate behind us.
Cabbie : Kawan pakcik tu duda. Dia nak kawin lain tapi anak anak dia tak kasi. Susah la macam tu. Kalau tak kawin, sape nak masak nasi untuk dia, nak jaga dia kan?
Me : Ha’ah. (What else was I supposed to say?)
Now we’ve passed the Duta toll, and on Jalan Duta (is it? Dunno). And there’s a slight but not too massive jam. But a jam nonetheless.
Seeing a potential delay of 5 minutes if we stayed in the queue, pakcik made a move to the emergency lane. His mate somehow managed to overtake us, I guess he went onto the emergency lane quicker than we did. There we were, two cabs speeding (relatively speaking, compared to the almost non-existing movement on the three ACTUAL lanes) along the emergency lane (Is it called emergency lane? The lanes on the most left side of a multi lane road, which not an actual lane? I dunno, but you get what I mean.)
And then we reached a point where we needed to get back on the right-est lane. Pakcik selambaly put his hand out, waved a bit, a cut across 3 lanes: from the “emergency” to the 2 lanes turning left, to another lane heading straight, to the lane going right. All in one movement. I kid you not. This is magic! And there wasn’t a single horn being directed at us during this crazy display of utter disregard towards safety, not to mention the sheer ignorance of road ethics. But at least pakcik acknowledge the inconsiderate driving he did.
Cabbie : Cara memandu macam ni takde akhlak punya cara.
Haha. Really? You think?
I’ve gotten used to pakcik’s constant weaving in and out of traffic, sometimes braking real close to the car in front, always jumping queues, cutting in front of blokes who’ve been stuck in line for ½ hour, with no single trace of guilt. Respect, man, respect. You must be gangsta to do this shit. It certainly made the journey much much faster. Imagine only 30 minutes from Subang to Jln Ampang in early morning traffic (around 8 lebih).
But before we got to Jln Ampang, we were on Sultan Ismail. And yet again, pakcik has a story.
Cabbie : Pakcik dah gi Iran 5 kali. Tehran, Esfahan, bla bla. Iran la contoh Negara Islam yg kuat. Negara Islam yg ditakuti. Pakcik ade tgk video kat Internet, Iran punye nuclear torpedo speed dia 400 km sejam. Tu yg Amerika cepat cepat lari tu. Takut. Setakat test yg India Paksitan dok buat tu, mmg hari hari Iran buat.
I kept quiet. Ok, let’s see where this goes.
Cabbie : Makan kat Iran sedap. Orang Iran makan kalah Mat Salleh. Makan kambing, makan steak, makan roti. Kat sana takde Coca Cola. Ada zam zam Cola, diorang buat sendiri. Tapi orang Iran ni mmg kuat minum air gas. Tu yg kena buat Zam Zam Cola. Pakcik kejap lagi nak gi beli arak Iran. Ada jual kat sini. Tapi arak yg takde alcohol. Sedap.
Me : Apa nama dia? Boleh saya cari nanti. (Well….I had to ask, I wanted to know…plus, arak takde alcohol? Biar benar orang tua ni..)
Cabbie : Pakcik tak ingat la. Tapi mmg ade jual kat sini.
Kat Iran tu Ahmedinejad pakai kereta buruk je. Kereta 504.
I had to assume he was talking about the Iranian president. And he drives a Peugeot 504 (ada ke 504? Have to check)
So, he’s telling me this:
This dude….

Drives this car….

But soon after, came this shocker.
Cabbie : Pakcik ni Islam Syiah. Dah lama berguru dah ni. Pergi Iran belajar.
He then brought down the sunvisor, and there were a lot of papers terselit in between the visor and its attached strap. He removed the papers from the visor, and showed me this black cloth with some Arabic written on it.
Me : Hmm hmm. (Translation = I have no idea what it means)
Pakcik then showed me a picture of a man that was pasted onto the driver’s sun visor. I don’t know who the person is, but it looked like Osama Laden, yeah with the long beards and serban. On second thought, it might well be Osama. It looked like this:

Cabbie : Ni la ketua kita.
And the he started kissing the picture. In the middle of traffic. Kissing the picture!! More like “kucup”. But he kucup-ed the picture of a bearded Arabic dude wearing a serban. Man, read that again! He kissed a picture of a bearded Arab bloke wearing a serban in a traffic jam!
Me : (This bloke is a terrorist? God. Well, bloody fuck.)
Not wanting to end his “creeping the passenger” routine, he then proceeded with another shocking confession.
Cabbie : Pakcik ada masa 13 Mei. Pakcik bunuh ramai orang. Haha.
I could sense pride in him when he nonchalantly admitted the “killing people” bit. Well, maybe he did kill a few people, who knows? That could well explain the terrorist thing.
Anyways, we’re now very close to the junction to Jln Ampang. We were a few metres from Renaissance Hotel, approximately 20 metres from the junction itself.
The road was packed, and we were at the outmost right lane. We needed to go the outmost left.
And once again, showing some cool headedness (or just plain “I don’t give a fuck”-ness), pakcik just selamba-ly cut across 3 lanes (and about a hundred annoyed semi-road rage drivers) to get to the lane where we should’ve taken miles earlier.
Just as luck would have it, the lights turned red and traffic had to stop. But pakcik still wanted to squeeze through and get to Jln Ampang as soon as possible. The car in front was standing still and won’t move a bit at all. And what does pakcik do?
Well, he climbed up the curb!!
Yes, he drove up the curb, as if it weren’t there.
So now we have two wheels on a 6 inch high curb and the other two "lower". Its like a see saw.
Cabbie : Haa.. senget sikit eh?
Are you fucking kidding me? Senget sikit? I must look very very stupid in the eyes of the other drivers.
Alas, despite managing to elevate half the cab onto the pavement, he still couldn’t get the car to squeeze through the minute gap that existed in between the car in front and the rest of the curb. So he gave up. Finally. Decided to wait for the lights to turn green.
And when it turned green, almost immediately pakcik stepped hard on the accelerator, and before you knew it we’re already at KLCC. Amazing! He made the red white Iswara go from 0 – 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. Eat that, Evo!! Ha-ha.
So when we reached KLCC, he dropped me off.
Me : Ok, terima kasih….
Cabbie : OK, nanti ada rezeki jumpa lagi..
And that was it.
The cab ride from hell. It wasn’t really a bad experience. It was rather amusing, entertaining, exciting and to some extent fun. But of course we could’ve easily gotten ourselves into an accident, judging by the way pakcik drove but I got out of the cab feeling kinda good. In a weird way, the cab ride actually made my day.
My cab ride back from KLCC to Subang was the complete opposite. The cabbie didn’t say a word all the way to Subang, and he was a “pemandu berhemah”. It was a quiet journey.

Another day in the office
Here's a story from work:
At our plant we have 3 electric generators (A,B and C) powering 5 huge pumps. These pumps are crucial for our production and therefore, by default so are the generators. One generator down would cause 2 pumps out of action, which means we lose approximately RM 2 million per day. And a few days ago, something went horribly wrong with Generator C, it was out of service and subsequently 2 pumps need to be taken offline. We lose 2 million. The thing is still down until today, so we decided to have a meeting to discuss our plan for this problem. In the meeting we had: 1 Senior Engineer/Old Guy (OG), the generator engineer (GE), myself and about 5 more people.
OG : So what's happening with Generator C?
GE : Well, it's not working, that's for sure.
Me : Yes, obviously.
OG : What were your findings?
GE : There were metal chips in the lubrication line. That's not good.
Me : So what can we do?
GE : What we can do is NOT run it.
OG : Well, that's what we've already done.
GE : We need to get this thing sorted.
Me : It doesn't look like it'll be solved easily, we might need to overhaul the whole thing.
GE : I don't feel very good looking at the amount of metal particles found.
OG : We know that. We shouldn't have anything inside the tubings.
GE : Which is why its not good.
OG : We need to get our production back. And this is holding us.
GE : 2 million a day is a lot of money.
At this point OG starts to look frustrated with the lack of definitive answers.
OG : (Looking directly at GE) Mate, you're the master of stating the obvious.
Upon hearing the comment, I tried very hard not too laugh too loudly. That was the exact same thing I wanted to say!
End of story from work.
See how useless meetings are?

A Cook's Tour
Have I ever mentioned that I'm an Anthony Bourdain fan too? Well, in the same manner how I am obsessed about Hornby, I bought both of Mr Bourdain's "cooking-adventure" books in one go: Kitchen Confidential & A Cook's Tour. Between the two, I'd say I prefer Kitchen Confidential but I like the Cook's Tour TV show. Tony taught me that cooks are COOL and not GAY. It wasn't really the cooking that attracted me to the show, it was Bourdain's cynicism and sarcastic sense of humour that had me hooked. A typical episode will start off with Tony meeting up with one of the locals and then being brought to the most obscure of places to eat some really interesting (if not weird) stuff. I've watched an episode where he drank a shot of snake blood. Whoa. He's been to freezing Russia, in the deserts of Morocco, jungles of Cambodia and bla bla bla. I guess it is interesting to see what people eat in different parts of the world. And watching an outsider showing sheer pleasure after tasting these delicacies somehow makes me feel good. I mean, in a way it re-assures that although the stuff looks weird it doesn't taste THAT bad. Am I making sense?

You noticed?
Today it suddenly struck me that Proton cars have curiously similar features as an Alfa Romeo. Maybe you've noticed, or maybe you haven't but I actually spent some time looking around at Protons today and made an analysis (ah, analysis - what an engineering word) comparing our beloved national car with arguably the sexiest cars ever.
So here's the similarities I managed to come up with:
1. This is quite obvious: Front grille of the Perdana looks exactly like the front of any Alfa.
2. The wheels/rims of the Gen2 looks very close to the trademark "telephone dial" wheels of the old 146.
3. Savvy has AMT which is a variation of Alfa's Selespeed transmission.
4. Alfa traditionally has poor reliability, same goes for dear 'ol Proton.
I'll hazard a guess: Proton design engineers are secret Alfa lovers.
I love Alfas. How can you not? Just look at the new Brera. I'll splash my cash just by looking at it.

Does it look alright?
Does this site look alright in Internet Explorer? I usually use Firefox, but today I opened the blog through Explorer and it looked messed up. Damn Microsoft.
On another note, isn't it just annoying when the car behind (or in front of , I guess) you has one headlight that beams "higher" than the other? That irritates me. A lot.

Cryptex
You must've heard of Da Vinci Code by now.
And you've probably read the book too.
So what do you think? Good, bad or just plain memesongkan akidah?
I guess the facts were stretched a bit (i.e false) but it sure as hell sounded pretty convincing. I'll give Dan Brown credit for that. But apart from these dodgy factual statements that pop up every now and then, the actual storyline is rather weak. To be honest, I started to lose interest reading it about 3/4 way through. Maybe it climaxed early? Haha you can't imagine how dodgy it feels just to write that last sentence!
I have a feeling that the movie would be good. They'll show lovely old architecture.
Not really sure about Tom Hanks as Langdon though. But the albino bloke is spot on! Exactly as I imagined!

Dumb Lyrics
I can't help but laugh everytime I hear this song, and I've heard it on the radio a few times already.
Does anyone know who sang this?
It goes more or less like...
I'm feeling kinda lonely
On top of that I feel kinda horny!
HAH.
What? Really?

Yesteryears
Sometimes, once in a while, I like to reminisce about the past.
I'd recall and look back a few years and remember all the bands I used to listen to back then.
For instance today, while I was driving around suddenly I had the urge to put in my Taking Back Sunday CD into the CD player. I didn't know where the urge came from, or how it came about, and before you know it TBS is playing loudly in the car stereo.
Reminds me of my emo days instantly. I would be embarrassed to even mention that I listen to TBS now, let alone play it on my stereo ever so loudly. But in a way, it did become the starting point of sorts for me to venture deeper into the whole genre of rock music.
As the CD player begins to play the last track, I begin to think about the other bands I listened to during this whole "emo" period. Names like Saves the Day and Dashboard Confessional come to mind. I'm pretty sure I've deleted all of my Saves the Day mp3s so there's no way of recovering that back, but I do have a DC CD. I'll probably listen to it sometime this week, while I'm still in the emo mood.
I'd recall and look back a few years and remember all the bands I used to listen to back then.

Bedside Reading
I like to read before I sleep, 'cause it makes me sleepy real quick. And usually I have more than 3 reading materials at my bedside (or rather; mattress-side). A quick glance (ok, not exactly quick) reveals that I have the following items for my reading pleasure prior to my deep slumber.
High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
The Importance of Being Ernest - Oscar Wilde
Italian in 3 Months
My First French Word Book
Modern Engine Tuning
March issue of F1 Racing magazine
Six Degrees: The Science of a Connected Age - Duncan Watts
Fever Pitch - Nick Hornby
Production Operations
February issue of Stuff magazine
That's pretty random, innit? Except for Hornby, I like Hornby.

Gubra
Let's start off by acknowledging that I'm BLOODY hungry right now.
All I had for dinner was Cintan Perisa Itik. Have you ever tried Cintan Perisa Itik? It's yummy. I always had the impression that ducks are "liat" for some reason, don't ask why.
Anyways, if you plan to watch the Malay movie Gubra, then I recommend you change your plans to something else. Like feed some ducks or watch paint dry (oh so cliche!). I wasted 10 bucks and more importantly 2 hours of my life (oh so nearly another cliche!) by watching this overly dramatic, masyarakat muhibbah berbilang kaum bullshit. I have a few issues with this movie, each of which will be elaborated in the following paragraphs (read with a very formal tone, please).
So I read somewhere that this isn't a sequel to the previous movie Sepet (which I enjoyed). Instead its a story that has characters from the previous movie but in a different timeline. Oh okay.
Hey wait a minute, if that is not the EXACT definition of a sequel, then what is? If it had the characters from the previous movie AND had the same timeline, then it would've been the same bloody movie, wouldn't it? It's confusing for simple folk like me, all this.
Okay, this really should be blamed on the article's writer instead of the movie itself. So fuck you article writer who felt the need to defend this dumb movie by saying its not a sequel when it really is because it has the exact same people in the movie as the first movie.
The movie is excruciatingly SLOW. Should the viewers see the dude walking to the surau, switching on the lights DOWNSTAIRS, then slowly climbs up the stairs, struggle to find the key, opening the door and finally switching the lights UPSTAIRS. The whole scene probably took close to 5 minutes (okay.. maybe 2) and I didn't think that it would've mattered much if we just saw the dude already in the surau. And there were other scenes that I think were supposed to add "dramatic artsy effects" that were just so so slow it annoyed the hell outta me.
Did the Chinese dude just stopped short of saying that he had a BIG BLACK DICK?
Is justifiable to cheat on your wife when your wife goes around touching another dude's naked chest in front of public toilets?
I'm hungry. I can't think more. I'll continue later.

You're Beautiful
I swear if I hear that song one more time, I'll kill myself.
Is it just me or this James Blunt bloke is getting really really annoying. To me, it's more close to "I wanna bash you up" kinda annoying, you know, the same exact feeling towards the idiot who constantly tailgates you.
What's this dude problem really? He goes on and on and on about his lost "love", writes very weak, pathetic, cliched songs and I kinda have a bit of an issue with his voice as well.
I guess what pisses me off the most that he potrays himself as this lonely loser guy but in reality he's dating super hot models. What the..? Is he faking the lonely broken hearted thing to get some chicks?
To borrow a line from the movie Lucky Number Slevin:
How do you justify being lonely and dating hot models?

Back again.
Blogging is something I do occasionally, apparently. I suppose I'm more of a "as-you-feel" kinda blogger, as opposed to "I'll tell you what happenened in my life today, EVERYDAY!" blogger. Not that there's anything wrong with that. So dear reader(s) or reader (Anonymous, where are you? Missing your comments, ha! I sound like a bloody loser!), in short here's a few random things that I've been planning to write about but were postponed and postponed until eventully I forgot about them. Until now, of course.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Playing golf hurts. Hurts your pocket severely, not to mention the sore arms & hands.
If you're a male Malay dude, you're probably obssesed with the Mitsubishi Evolution. You go, "Whoa.. Evo, Evo!" as one passes by. You're pathetic.
I went to the book fair and bought a kindergarden colourful kiddie cartoony book titled "My First French Word Book". Cute, eh? I plan to learn some French words through this pre-schooler book. Yet another crazy idea.
I've also decided that I'll do my own repair on my FRIEND'S car! Haha. I'll spend a mere RM 130 for a 1990s Mercedes C-Class Haynes Manual. I should be a certified Merc expert once I finish reading this. And this poor bloke's car would be my first specimen.
I hope I get transferred back to KL. I've lost interest in working lately.
I've started jogging every evening, just before I go hitting golf balls at the driving range.
I can't go to the range everyday. I lose my swing. I'm bloody inconsistent. Either that or I just can't pay attention/concentrate too long.
My friend left his electric guitar and amp in my room. I'm practicing crazy ass psychedelic solos every night now.
Seven fucking nil, eh? Followed by a derby win, without Gerrard some more, aiya!
My car guzzles so much fuel. Bloody hell.
When's my trip to Perth? I need a vacation, pronto.
Hasan Merican is kinda cool.
Sure, this all doesn't make any sense. You know why? Cause it's some RANDOM stuff I've been storing in my head for a few weeks now. That's why.
But with a bit of effort, I'm sure at least 50% of this post is relatively understandable.

Guilty pleasures
I discovered something new to prove that I have a really really short attention span. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Out of the 100 balls I hit at the driving range today, I messed up the first 10 or so (finding my rhythm), hit the next 30 decently (my hits were between sweet and okay) and totally fucked up the rest (utterly useless, complete loss of concentration). So it goes to show yet again, that I can only do things well for a very short period, and then I'll just lose focus and mess the whole thing up seconds later.
Alright then.
Continuing on with my "singer-songwriter" phase; after a short pause to indulge on some Placebo (which by the way, will take a bit of time to appreciate), I'm back with my next acoustic guitar-strumming, semi-artistic bloke. Except that he's not really semi-artistic.
As embarassing as it is, I have to admit that my current guilty pleasure is no other than Jason "Mr. A-Z" Mraz. Normally, anyone that gives himself a pathetic nickname like "Mr A-Z" is a bloody motherfucking wanker in my books, and deserve to rot in hell. But I'll let it slide this time. Just because the song Wordplay is so annoyingly happy.

Lord of War
Funny how I seem to always "get" a song while watching a movie. I was watching the movie "Lord of War" just now, and it had the song Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley playing in one scene, and at that very instant I realised how gorgeous the song really is.
I've had Jeff Buckley mp3s in my PC for a long long time now. I think I have the albums Grace, My Sweetheart the Drunk and the live album stored somewhere in my hard disk. But it's not like I listen to them all the time, I'm not even a big fan of Buckley. It's more like a random album that I play when I need something new to listen.
However, after watching the DVD I just couldn't get the song out of my head, and now I'm playing this track on repeat, possibly for a couple of days. It's just weird how only today I've seen the "light" and discovered beauty of this song. Sure, I don't have a clue what the words mean, but the music is really nice, perfect for the not-so-good feeling I'm in right now.
I don't know, maybe I'm just in a singer-songwriting, slightly depressing, melancholic phase. First it was Damien Rice and now Jeff Buckley?

Sunburnt
Playing golf without any sunblock is a bad, bad idea!
I'm all sun burnt now (or tanned, depending on how you look at it).
But at least I'm not a golf virgin anymore.
I'll be staying away from the course for a week after this skin-burning and stamina-crushing day of golf.

Meds.
I'm too excited and I couldn't wait until a few days for my next post!
Straight after my previous post, I surfed around and discovered that there's a new Placebo album.
I'm going to download it now!!
I'm stoked as hell.
I'm gonna put my Without You I'm Nothing CD right away. Just to get in the mood.
Maybe I'll watch the concert DVD after that.
Wow.

What's playing, Rage?
Ahh...
It's Friday night. Oh no,actually it's not Friday night. But it sure does feel like a Friday night. Maybe because tomorrow's a holiday. Yeah that's probably why.
Well, it doesn't really matter.
I just realised how much I miss watching Rage on Friday & Saturday nights on ABC. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, I guess thats OK.
I miss watching weird ass and cool video clips.
I remember watching the latest White Stripes/Strokes video on Rage.
I remember watching back to back to back Pennywise videos (haha... my "punk" days, thats funny)
I remember watching a Misfits/Dickies/Ramones/Black Flag clip for the very first time in my life on Rage.
It's like my whole musical education began with this program Rage.
And I remember being excited surfing the website for the week's playlist.
So, just for good old times sake, I present to you the Rage playlist for this Friday. (Or is it last Friday's?)
See how much good music I've missed.

The Blower's Daughter
I knew about this Damien Rice song by chance really, on a fine morning the video appeared on TV2, of all places! I've heard of Damien Rice a few years back, and how his album O was highly regarded amongst those hipster magazines. To me, being drooled over by hipster mags is always, always a sign of disappointment. Hence the reason why I never took the effort to "discover" Rice.
I still haven't listened to the rest of the album though, and am just forming my opinion based on this one track only. I'm a bit obsessed with this song recently, I've downloaded the mp3 and had gone as far as watching the movie where the song was featured in the soundtrack. Fucking hell.
I'm just fascinated by the feeling of helplessness, depression, sadness, despair and hopelessness that this song never fails to evoke everytime I listen to it. It feels good to feel depressed, if that makes any sense. This is probably among the bleakest song I've ever heard, ranking close to Johnny Cash's haunting "Hurt".
And on other matters, I hate you Johnny-bandwagon-jumpers who suddenly talk and comment A LOT about Liverpool. I bet you watched the Champions League final last year as a "neutral", then when we actually won the damn thing, you're suddenly a Red. You get super excited with our winning run but immediately whinge when we lost a few games recently. Well, FU. Go back supporting Arsenal, Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona or whoever the hell you think plays "good" football.

Random Office Happenings
A few days ago, we had this contractor coming in the office to do a presentation on their findings on a just recently concluded exercise they did.
This particular group of contractors then brought along with them their Technical Consultant, a white mat salleh to help them out, I suppose.
So just before everyone gets settled down, and while waiting for the presentation to start, there's this really awkward silence (as you always do), where everyone just looks around, staring blankly into space. One of my colleagues, in an attempt to start some "small talk" - I think, suddenly broke the awkward silence. With his eyes staring directly into the foreigner's, he selamba-ly asked, "Are you Danish?".
The puzzled & embarassed look on the poor white man's face was priceless.
I thought that was kinda funny.

I used to like Weezer.
Not anymore. Not after hearing that god-awful song Beverly Hills.
Too bad, 'cause I was really into them a long long time ago.
I still like Gilmore Girls though. I think.

I used to like watching the TV show Gilmore Girls because:
- It had an unbelievably witty, funny, sarcastic and amazingly hip script.
- The chicks are hot and also good actors.
- It name dropped Greg Ginn.

Welcome back God.
Newsflash.
Robbie's back at Anfield. Will he wear 23? 9? Nope, it's 11.
It feels good. Oh so good.

When was the last time?
When was my last post?? A good fucking 2 weeks, that's when. How am I supposed to be a "dedicated blogger" if I can't post anything every 24 hours? Gosh, it's hard to live the hip and happening life, my friend.
Well, a lot had happened within those two (or maybe more) weeks; work in the middle of the sea, an uneventful raya haji, broken my glasses, being charged a fortune for a new pair, reunion dinner, pulled out one wisdom tooth, being charged a fortune for the tooth, hosted an office dinner, and so many other stuff I don't even recall anymore. Oh, but I do remember the one day where I dusted off my CD collection and put on good 'ol Dashboard Confessionals in the CD player. That was so gay.
Question:
Is the new Strokes record any good?
This review is funny.
But no, seriously. Is it any good? Should I download it?
And are you excited? Are you?
Well, you better be 'cause this weekend its the mother fucker of all matches : Liverpool v Man Utd
Are you excited now? Are you as excited as the first time you saw naked boobies? Of course.

You can Kromkamp my ass.
Dear Polis/Utusan/Harian Metro/etc.:
I'll be killing a goat this week. Please don't come and raid my house. I promise you that this has nothing to do at all with any Black Metal, ajaran songsang, luar akidah, perangai Syaitan activities. It's for my Hari Raya korban.

Black Metal is bad. Bad I say!!
Yes people, Black Metal is officially the worst thing on Earth right now. It's true. I read it in Utusan. Apparently, Utusan brilliantly came up with this great explanation on why metal is evil. It's something like this:
METAL = SATAN = HELL = BAD
Notice the colour & font that I use. I think it stresses on how evil black metal really is. Red represents the fires of hell.
Wow... thanks Utusan. You must have excellent reporters who worked hard to come up with this SHOCKING!! news.
OK, moving on.
Happy New Year. I know it's kinda late, but what the hell.
Hope you keep your resolutions, well at least until the end of the month.
