First Win

Luckily, the Reds won last night against some pretty tricky opposition (Maccabi Haifa). I didn't wake up early enough to watch the first half and by the time I got my arse out of bed the game was already well into the 2nd period.
Anyways, Liverpool played a decent game but nowhere near the level I'd consider excellent. I'll cut them some slack since it's early days and players might be rusty still.

Didn't see much of Bellamy though he did score, while Pennant was busy down the right without actually getting his crosses accurate. Gerrard occasionally was played on the LEFT (what the..?) and Zenden was very average. Alonso didn't impose himself enough in midfield and I thought only Sissoko was playing well. But a win is a win. I'm glad we got the win, but am still worried about the 2nd leg.

Ahh... the ups and downs being a Red.
Bring it on, I've missed it for months.

... otherwise, y'all will just take it for granted that the Reds will win any given day, when that isnt exactly the case. with a really worthy opponent, at least that will give y'all a bragging right shud they win. right? right?

I don't mind losing once in a while, but against teams that really matter (Man Utd or Everton or any team in any finals) we must win at all cost. Fluid flowing football is what I want to see but as a fan I'd rather have us play bad and win than play well but struggle.
Sounds oh-so cliche.

I had a good weekend. Spent too much money on food though. But did manage to catch up with a few friends, played futsal until three fucking AM. Bought a baju batik specifically for a wedding reception I have to attend next week. And lastly, watching 2nd string Reds outplay Chelsea in the first half of the Community Shield felt really really satisfying.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend too.

This comment is too long its nearly a post by itself.
