Rain

I like rain. And I'm not talking about some Korean bloke who prances around in military style camo gear, although I've been told that he does have some nifty dance moves. Hah.

I like rain, real rain - water dropping from the sky, kind of rain.
Especially on a lazy, non-working Monday morning, while I sit reading on my bed, leaning against the wall, semi-covered under my quilt, with a mug of hot coffee on the bedside table. Nothing on the stereo, just the sound of water trickling onto the roof and the occasional fresh breeze through my partially open window.
Absolute bliss.

I like rain.

dude now i'm a total sucker for mike gayle's books and have bought 4 of them. i even emailed that fella to advise not to let ben affleck to star should any of his novels are turned into movies and he replied no worries as most probably it'll go to a UK prod house.

You're my kinda guy...

You could try standing in the rain when you're feeling down. It's soothing. Just dont stand where the lightning could hit you.

Pyanski!
You're becoming quite the Gayle fan-boy aren't you? Anyways, I need to borrow one of your books man, which one would you suggest? I'm inclined to read My Legendary Girlfriend, surely you must have that. And I am actually quite surprised that Mr Gayle actually replied your email. It's a bit nerdy though, emailing your favourite writer. Hah.

Don't you think Gayle writes a bit on the flat side though? He has good ideas, but his style is a bit monotonous? Hmm..dunno if that's the right word. A friend of mine has My Legendary Girlfriend. He says it's kinda yawnsome. Which books are the better ones?

yeah fanboy is the right word haha.

I think the best is still Brand New Friend. The next good one would be Turning Thirty, IMO. I agree that My Legendary Girlfriend is a bit flat through mid-way, but it does pick up speed at the end and ended brilliantly. I also have Mr Commitment but haven't read it yet.

The style is what I find interesting about his books, i dunno. Full of witty remarks worthy to quote in real life and make you sound like a cool guy.

My Legendary Girlfriend has struck a chord with me - the storyline is ~70% similar to what i have experienced myself.

It's a personal thing that I developed over the years - to email the author of the books that I have read and give feedbacks. so far all of them did reply back to me, which i think is nice.

Rain the singer is cool because he can totally groove (unlike some ppl). Harry said unfortunately she's incapable of giving intelligent comments abt Mike Gayle. She hasnt read him but i'll intro her to him as i did to some ppl.. ahahaa! Harry said "But I'm a complete sucker for Rain the cutesy tho. Rain rocks!" And as i recall it correctly someone wanted to catch Rain's concert the other day...Aha!

p.s.- bought bangles from the bazaar - u want one? No travelblog in sight just yet.

Firstly, I'd like to think I'm EVERYONE's kind of guy. Haha, whatever that means..

Evil G (now doesn't that sound oh-so-Gangsta?): I'm not a big fan of bangles, unfortunately, but hey - if you want to buy me one, I'll gladly have them. You never know, I might actually like bangles after all.

And for those who care - now I'm reading Starter for Ten by David Nicholls & Shopgirl by Steve Martin. Both have been turned into movies, apparently.
